Aghaz – A mobile application for children with Autism to learn the foundations of Urdu

Dec 2020 – Aug 2021

Project Overview

Aghaz is a language learning application designed for children with Autism in Pakistan. It features 6 types of lessons and numerous games for children to reinforce learning. With its use, children are expected to develop a basic vocabulary, comprehension and understand Urdu grammar rules. This application is based on The Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) which has been proved to be an effective mechanism for learning for children with Autism.

Features

Hundreds of localized flashcards: The Aghaz team specializes in designing flashcards tailored to children with autism in Pakistan to help them learn Urdu vocabulary effectively.

Sequential Learning: Our lessons adopt a sequential approach in which the child moves from basic learning units to advanced. We have incorporated a learning mechanism similar to that taught in local schools. Your child is guided throughout the lessons and the difficulty levels increase gradually.

Designed for Autism: We have worked with leading psychologists to carefully design this app, keeping our target audience in mind. Aghaz is designed for children with a sensory overload, it guides the child at every step and focuses on positive reinforcement.
