Lexia – A digital platform designed to aid children with dyslexia

Dec 2020 – Aug 2021

Project Overview

A gamified tool designed to screen and assist in the assessment of dyslexia in primary school-going children. The app consists of 8 tests targeting different skills and provides indications of strengths and weaknesses of children with learning difficulties. This tool can easily be administered by parents and teachers and the results can be used by psychologists to formally assess children.

Features

A Gamified Experience: Lexia makes the tedious process of assessing children engaging. It consists of 8 interactive activities with a playful school theme. As the child progresses, they are given rewards to maximize their motivation.

More than Screening: This tool does more than just screen children with Dyslexia in Urdu. This tool can also be used to teach children vocabulary, letter recognition and so much more through repeated exposure. Additionally, this tool can be used by psychologists in assessing children’s strengths and weaknesses and design a remediation plan accordingly. It’s an app for everyone!

Designed for Dyslexia: We have carefully designed this app, keeping our target audience in mind. Lexia makes the screening process fun. Unnecessary text is avoided and in many places, visuals and voice prompts are used instead.
